About

We built the thing we wished existed.

Credentials and confidential documents still move the way they always have - pasted into an email, dropped in a chat thread, screenshotted into a ticket - because there's rarely a better option close at hand. That's a bigger liability for an agency or MSP juggling many clients' credentials at once, and it's exactly the kind of handling a compliance review asks about. GoSecretly exists to give teams a genuinely better default.

The problem

Every one of these keeps a permanent copy.

Long after the person who needed a credential has moved on, the channel it traveled through usually hasn't forgotten it.

EmailForwarded, archived, and searchable by anyone who ever gets access to that inbox - long after the credential itself should have stopped existing.
ChatSlack and Teams keep a permanent, exportable history by default. A secret pasted into a channel outlives the reason it was shared there.
Tickets & screenshotsA credential screenshotted into a support ticket gets copied into whatever system stores that ticket, indefinitely, with none of the access control it originally had.

This is also why our own optional Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations only ever post a “something happened, go check your dashboard” nudge - never the secret or document itself.

How we build it

Three things we don't compromise on.

Zero-knowledge by design, not by policyEvery secret and document is encrypted in the sender's browser before it ever reaches our servers. This isn't a promise we're asking you to trust - it's an architectural fact you can verify from how the product behaves: we simply never hold a key that could decrypt your content. The one deliberate, opt-in exception is Managed Secrets - a separate, clearly-labeled vault you choose to enroll a secret in specifically so we can rotate it for you.
Mandatory, not optional, securityTwo-factor authentication isn't a setting someone can leave off - it's required for every account, and required again with a fresh code before any sensitive action.
Say what's actually trueOur privacy, GDPR, and security pages describe the product as it actually works today, not as a set of future intentions.
